Families, Fathers & Friends offers an accessible, high quality counselling service
‘Families, Fathers and Friends’ is a charity that provides a broad based, high quality, accredited mediation and counselling service, primarily for men who are experiencing the trauma of a marriage or relationship breakdown and who may need support in coping with the immediate problem of lack of access to their children.
We provide men with calm reassurance, as well as good information and advice about their rights and responsibilities with regard to issues of access, custody, guardianship and family maintenance.
We also provide counselling for older children, especially early- and late-teenagers whose parents have separated or divorced, and refer onwards to specialised health and social care services.
‘Families, Fathers & Friends’ keeps a watching brief on family law issues and developments in the family law system, especially where they affect fathers. We make policy submissions occasionally on the changes we believe should be made to ensure mothers and fathers have equal standing and respect.
