Law Reform Commission issues landmark report on fathers’ rights
September 11, 2009
We’re delighted that the Law Reform Commission has issued its landmark consultation paper proposing increased parental rights and responsibilities for fathers and grandparents, but disappointed it’s virtually a carbon-copy of the previous report from three decades ago.
We hope it will lead to long-overdue policy and legislative reform, which strikes a balance between the rights of fathers and mothers, in the interests of the child.
The Commission’s press release is here and the full text of the report here.
